This fabric, inspired by the literary work of the novel by Bernardin de Saint Pierre, published in 1788 in volume VI "des études de la nature" and by the preparatory design by Jean Baptiste Huet portraying the ideal story of the romance sparked between Paul and Virginie and the dramatic death of Virginie who left to meet her aunt in France and who drowned when her ship was wrecked in a storm...This coloured fabric in very 18th century hues is printed on 100% linen reworked by aged finishing to give the fabric an ancient patina close to the original document.
