However, the title name itself was the summer capital of Kublai Khan’s Yuan Dynasty in China, more correctly known as ShaÌngdu. It achieved almost mythical status as a metaphor for opulence most famously in Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem Kubla Khan.
